You and your boyfriend just broke up and you really want to make a change and overall just desperate for a win. You need a change in your life that’s positive. So what better way to feel better about yourself than to shed a couple of pounds. You ultimately wanted to shove it in your ex’s face that he is missing awesomeness in the female form. One problem, you tried to lose weight before but it didn’t work. Agh, curse those yummy distractions (macaroons, yum!). But not this time. It’s going to work. You have this uncanny calmness and unusually focused version of yourself. You actually get excited for a second because you know you’re going to do it. But how to lose 5 pounds in 7 days?
You Have to Stop The Wine-ing (Pun intended)!!!
Okay, so confession moment. You LOVE wine or really anything alcohol related. In the past, you’ve been known to have an average of 2 to 3 glasses in an evening. Long week? Let’s get a bottle of wine. Girl’s night? Your friends know you’re on it! [Insert friend’s name], someone cut you off in traffic this morning? I’m bringing the good stuff! Okay so maybe the last one is a bit of a stretch, but you get the picture. But once you do that, it will save you a ton of money too!
Tracking those calories
It’s amazing how many calories you consume after you start researching and documenting it daily. Love that greasy hamburger? 1000+calories! That is just for one meal. Scary isn’t it? The recommended calories are 1,500-2000 calories per person, per day. It puts a lot of things into perceptive. Which brings me into my next step….
Park it at the house
Notorious for getting a group together and eating out? Might want to rethink that strategy. The average meal going out to eat is 1000+ calories! What the what?!?!! I know what you might be thinking “eat at home? That’s boring. What am I going to do have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?” Think about it, you can buy whatever you want and can have people over too! It actually is a lot of fun coming up with new fun recipes that you can control the calorie count, not to mention A LOT CHEAPER.
Get an accountability partner
Get connected with a friend that has recently gone through a weight loss transformation themselves. Ask her if she could hold you accountable for your actions each week. Share the good times, tell her when you messed up, and asked for tips that helped her along the way.
All in all, at the end of the week, it was shocking how those few changes really mattered. I always thought that you had to do a complete 180 in the lifestyle change for things to matter and that’s just simply NOT true. If I (the biggest excuse maker) can do it, ANYBODY can do it! I want to hear your struggles and successes! Make a comment maybe someone else is going through the same thing or needs to hear what you have to say. You never know. You are not your previous mistakes!
